Flint Hills Tallgrass Prairie Preserve Field Trip

Owned and managed by The Nature Conservancy, this 3.5 square-mile property has been open to the public since 2023.  This will be a hike of several miles on mowed trails through tallgrass prairie and the headwaters of the South Fork of the Cottonwood River. We should see some of the sought-after  Henslow’s Sparrow, many other birds and wildlife, and a variety of  prairie plants and wildflowers.    Meet in the parking lot of the Great Plains Nature Center, 6232 E. 29^th St, Wichita  at 7 am.
