Meet at the Dillon's at 21st and Amidon. We'll look for winter waterfowl and check out nearby lakes and woodlands. A Kansas Parks permit is required for each vehicle.

2nd Saturday Bird Walk
Bring your binoculars and discover the birds that visit and live in Chisholm Creek Park. No birding experience is needed. Expect 1–2 miles of walking on paved paths. The walk will last about 90 minutes. Meet at the Great Plains Nature Center parking lot and practice social distancing!

Come hear and see the Woodcock perform his display at dusk. Meet in the GPNC parking lot, located off of 29th Street. A flashlight will be useful for navigating the trails.

Meet at the city park in Marion at 8 a.m. We will visit the county lake, the reservoir and several other hot spots with possible greater prairie chicken views. Reservations not required but it would be helpful to notify Tom if you plan to attend so that we can make some plans to limit our impact.

Find out more »Oak Park Invasive Plant Removal
Asian bush honeysuckle is an invasive plant causing serious habitat damage. We'll spend 3-4 hours removing these plants, directed by the Wichita Parks Department staff. Tools, gloves and water will be provided. Meet by the stone arch at the southwest corner of the park.
